Tucherpark is located near the city centre of Munich, next to the English Garden and River Isar and close to Odeonsplatz and Eisbachwelle. The postwar complex, originally planned by Sep Ruf, is under ‘Ensemble Schutz’ and is to be gently transformed and densified into a mix-use and green urban neighbourhood according to protection requirements.
The cooperative development process, driven by clients Haus Invest, Commerz Real and HINES Germany, kicked off with intensive stakeholder dialogue and is now published in a strategic and physical masterplan proposal for the whole area. The two buildings that make up the complex of Cluster North are designed with a wide range of apartment typologies, a kindergarten, and shared facilities as well as the green outdoor areas.
The initial process involved Haus Invest, Commerz Real, Hines Germany, City of Munich, MVRDV, Snoehetta, Steidle Architekten, Gehl, Atelier Kempe Thill Thörner Kaczmarek, Kiessler Architekten, allmannwappner, Hascher Jehle Architektur, Uniola, 03 Arch., H+Architektur, Insar and Ina Laux.
