Mission Neighbourhood

ADEPT is a proud contributor to the New book 'Mission Neighbourhood—(Re)forming Communities' by Christian Pagh and Thomas Cook (Oslo Architecture Triennale).

The neighbourhood is a fundamental physical and social horizon for human life. Yet, the intricate mix of relations that makes up a neighbourhood, is rarely given the attention it deserves in policy making or urban planning.

With 35 contributions from acclaimed architects, academics, civil servants and developers from the Nordics and beyond, ‘Mission Neighbourhood – (Re)forming Communities’ offers new insight into how to form more sustainable, diverse and meaningful neighbourhoods. Contributors include ADEPT, Jos Boys, Cobe, Camilla van Deurs, EFFEKT, Jan Gehl, Dan Hill, Indy Johar, Carlos Moreno, Juhani Pallasmaa, Kate Raworth, Martha Thorne, Finn Williams, and many more.

‘Mission Neighbourhood – (Re)forming Communities’ aims to redefine the discourse on urban development and community building, serving as a source of inspiration for architects, urban planners, policymakers, and individuals passionate about creating thriving, inclusive neighbourhoods. The publication is based on the 8th edition of the Oslo Architecture Triennale, from which it borrows its title.
