Transforming the city’s main barrier, the Helmut-Kohl-Allee unlocks new opportunities to strengthen, connect, and revitalize the inner city. The masterplan proposes to re-connect neighborhoods and pushes for a green urban profile. We achieve this by turning the Friedenspark into the city's vibrant green heart while re-connecting urban fabric through a radical infrastructural transformation from north to south. Based on 3 main strategies, designed as a flexible structural toolbox and each addressing different scales in the area – urban, neighbourghood and micro-local – the masterplan turns the former barriers into potentials.
